Besides the blue mailboxes of the United States Postal Service, you often find these dark green boxes in the streets of New York, which are inscribed with U.S. Mail. I wondered for a long time what function these boxes could have and finally found the answer. ;)

Neben den blauen Briefkästen des United States Postal Service findet man in New Yorks Strassen oft auch diese dunkelgrünen Kästen, die mit U.S. Mail angeschrieben sind. Ich fragte mich lange, welche Funktion diese Kästen haben könnten und fand schliesslich die Antwort. ;)
